As part of the March 18th Martyrs’ Memorial Day and the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, a dive was carried out at the wreck of the British warship HMS Majestic, which was sunk by the German U-21 submarine off Seddülbahir Castle on May 27, 1915. Fourteen students, accompanied by three instructors, participated in the dive at the wreck of HMS Majestic, a flagship of the British fleet sunk during the Çanakkale Wars. Underwater, they unfurled the Turkish flag alongside the university’s flag.

Piri Reis University Underwater Diving Specialist H. Tamer Günebakan stated, “Our goal was to help students experience both the spirit of this place and the essence of diving. With this dive, we had the opportunity to see firsthand the remains of those who could not leave as they arrived.”
