About the Program:

The Shipbuilding Program at Piri Reis University is part of the Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies (MAUT). Our program offers education in Shipbuilding. The Shipbuilding Program of the Maritime Vocational School (DMYO) is tutored by faculty members with expert knowledge in the field, industrial experience, and a high level of academic background. Our academic staff works diligently to maximize students’ professional skills and train them as professionals who can compete with the international level. Our faculty closely follows the latest developments and innovations in Shipbuilding sector to update course contents. The training approach aims to raise awareness among students about the subject.

Educational Objectives:

The educational objectives of the Shipbuilding Program at Piri Reis University are as follows:

  • To provide students with current professional knowledge and skills,
  • To offer practical and project-oriented education by promoting entrepreneurship and innovation,
  • To raise graduates who participate in social activities and create awareness,
  • To provide training that teaches at least one foreign language and one drawing program needed in the Shipbuilding Industry.

Who Can Apply?

The Shipbuilding Program is a two-year associate degree program. Anyone who can obtain a sufficient score on the TYT Exam, regardless of their branch or field in high school, and has an interest in the marine and shipbuilding can prefer our program.

Where Can Graduates Work?

The Shipbuilding Program is a two-year associate degree program, and students who successfully complete the program gain the qualifications to become Shipbuilding Technicians in shipyards. Our graduates obtain qualifications that allow them to be employed as technicians responsible for the maintenance and care of ships and as technical personnel related to the repairs of commercial ship fleets. Graduates from this program acquire skills to work in design offices for the design of ships, yachts, and small boats.
